Bave New World
In chapter three of Brave New World, it is established that there is no value in an integrated society. Mustapha Mona says, "There must be men to tend them, men as sturdy as the wheels upon their axles, sane men, obedient men, stable in contentment." The belief of this social system is that somebody needs to control all aspects of scociety in one way. They want all people to be alike and they want no diversity what so ever. This book is really starting to sound in a lot of ways like 1984. They both wanted a controlled society and there both willing to do pretty much anything to keep it controlled. In Brave New World, they are able to manipulate peoples feelings, relationships and desires pretty easy. It is said that everyone is in control by everyone else but that is not the case. There is a smart group and a dumb group and in a sense, the smart ones really control the dumb people. This is how everything is controlled so nicely, because no one even thinks about rebelion, they are told to be happy in what there doing so thats the only way they know how to be.I believe that if we had this social system in todays age someone would find a way to see past the governments brain wash activity and would be able to prevent or detect this, especially with technological advances being as high as they are it would be pretty easy to find some of this stuff out. This is what has taken place up until chapter 4, i know that this book is going to get alot more interesting.... until next time :)
